Synopsis

Christmas Sisters is the prologue novella that opens Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge, a connected holiday series written jointly by Tess Thompson, Judith Keim, Tammy L. Grace, Ev Bishop and Violet Howe.

A sudden accident takes Madeline Kirby's husband and only child. A school guidance counselor with nothing left but her work, Maddie decides to get through Christmas by easing someone else's pain, and takes in four motherless children for the holidays. What is meant to be a temporary arrangement changes all of them: defensive Stevie, distrustful Jo, delicate Alissa and small, frightened Hailey.

The novella establishes the four girls whose adult stories each of the five authors picks up in the books that follow, and the lodge that draws them back together. It is short, gentle and openly sentimental, written as an entry point rather than a standalone novel.
