Synopsis

Genevieve Beaumont has never lacked for anything money can buy, and nobody in Hope's Crossing has ever felt sorry for her. That changes when she learns her fiancé has been cheating on her. Her controlling father gives her a choice: marry the man anyway, or be cut off and find a way to support herself.

Her way out comes from an unlikely direction. Dylan Caine is a war veteran still struggling to adjust to life after his time in Afghanistan, and his own life is every bit as messy as hers. A spoiled socialite learning how the real world works is the last thing he wants to take on.

Still, Dylan notices that Genevieve has more depth than he expected, and she is beautiful too. Each of them has doubts. He believes he can never be the man she needs, and she suspects he is not the man she thinks she wants.

This is a contemporary Christmas romance set in a small town, with a slow-burning attraction between two people from very different worlds. The tone is warm and seasonal, with a wounded hero and a heroine facing real consequences for the first time. Both of them are quietly hoping a holiday miracle will prove their doubts wrong.
