Synopsis

For years Jeanette Winterson has written a new story every Christmas, and this collection brings twelve of them together, each followed by a recipe forming its own small "feast." The tales range from fairy tale to ghost story: a child trapped in a department store called BUYBUYBABY helps a couple let go of materialism; a donkey narrates the nativity in "The Lion, the Unicorn and Me"; a spare bedroom turns lethally cold in "The Second Best Bed"; and a spectral mother and daughter appear outside an isolated house in "Dark Christmas."
