Adrian Tchaikovsky (born Adrian Czajkowski) is a British science fiction and fantasy author, born in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. He studied zoology and psychology at the University of Reading before working as a legal executive, becoming a full-time writer in 2018. His debut novel, Empire in Black and Gold (2008), opened the ten-book Shadows of the Apt series. His novel Children of Time won the 2016 Arthur C.
