Released after a season-ending injury, veteran NFL player Griffin Lacey gets an unexpected second chance: a one-year contract with the hometown team he grew up cheering for. His plan is simple — play to win, avoid distractions. Then college literature instructor Brynn Nelson rear-ends his car on the way to his first home game. Thirty and stuck in a dead-end relationship in a city that's never felt like home, Brynn finds herself drawn into Griffin's orbit, and as he shows her the city she's never really let herself love, both of them start to rediscover a spark neither expected.

Brandy Pelletier opens the Lacey Bros series with a sports romance about second chances, chance encounters, and finding love exactly when you stop looking for it.
