Ada entri yang saya tak berapa pasti kenapa terpilih (walaupun sudah diterangkan di bahagian intro oleh editor) tapi baiklah saya faham hal ini mungkin subjektif. Oleh itu, marilah saya komen sikit tentang cerpen-cerpen yang saya sangat suka (sahaja):\n\n1. Lelaki Patani dan Gadis Korea Utara (Isma Ae Mohamad) : Permulaan kisah yang bagus buat saya tertunggu-tunggu misterinya hal tentang Kim. Susunan perenggan dan point cerita yang kemas, hingga saya sendiri tak jangka ending-nya begitu walaupun terlalu klise. \n2. Hari-Hari Hari Ini (Zaki Zainol) : Aha! Ini paling saya suka sebab ada pinch of magical realism, horror dan misteri. Permulaan yang santai tapi kemudian cemas dan bawa saya terus ke alam spooky. Cara penulisan yang bagus, tersusun dan cukup perisanya. Fokus dua watak utama yang sangat padu. Bahagian mistik dengan lesapnya Suzana itu paling saya suka. \n3. Jarak Dekat (Lee Keok Chih) : Perasaannya seperti membaca novel penulis Asia yang menulis hal moraliti dan budaya setempat. Fiksyen yang menarik dengan ragam keluarga yang klise tapi punya isi yang semacam berat dan penuh perasaan. Saya sebenarnya harap ini boleh dinovelkan.\n4. Kasih\u002FKesumat (Saharil Hasrin Sanin) : Sudah pernah baca dalam buku Cerpen-Cerpen Underground. Anehnya ia cuma cerita tentang satu sindiket curi organ tapi emosi dalam naratif sangat jelas dan penceritaannya buat saya leka jelajah tiap aksara dan deskripsi cerita. \n5. Bibir T. Alias Taib (Wan Nor Azriq) : Permulaan cerita yang agak misterius tapi agak menarik sebab manakah logika mahu iklankan bibir T. Alias Taib di buku panduan telefon? Pelik yang puas hati bila membaca. Membaca kisah antara dua point of views itu kadang rasa terhibur tapi teringin juga nak tahu kisah lanjut tentang Pemburu Kota Sdn Bhd. Barangkali antara 50 cetakan bibir pada bulan pertama itu, saya ada beli satu. \n6. Kota Jaga (Samsudin Ahmad) : Kisah yang aneh tentang peniaga tanah kubur yang menjadi gila. Ada satu aftertaste yang buat saya berfikir panjang. \n7. Red King, Asleep in the Garden (Foo Sek Han) : Fast-paced and quite imaginary. Saya suka bila si monster asyik bertanya, ia seperti kisah kanak-kanak yang berbunyi manis tapi sebenarnya penuh pengajaran yang sedang bersembunyi. \"Do dreams destroy worlds? Perhaps.\" \n\nAntara buku cerpen terbaik saya baca tahun ini.
