Synopsis

In 1970s Boston, mixed-race sisters Birdie and Cole navigate a world where their identities are constantly questioned. When their parents' volatile marriage implodes amidst civil rights activism, the sisters are torn apart. Birdie and her mother are forced to flee, adopting new identities and leaving their past behind, but Birdie is haunted by the loss of her sister and the danger that lurks just beneath the surface.
