Welp... Full disclosure: I'm a slash fiction fan. Drarry (Draco+Harry) is, in fact, one of my top favorite pairings. Especially after reading [a:Lightning on the Wave|6525941|Lightning on the Wave|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/f_50x66-6a03a5c12233c941481992b82eea8d23.png]'s massive and amazing series (which I adore even more than JK's series gasp sorry, not sorry). It's seriously that good, but I digress.
So, as I was saying, fanfiction fan over here... and this book is obviously Drarry fanfiction only with differently named characters, places, etc. If I rated it as fanfiction (which it is!), it wouldn't be one of the best, at all. I mostly read it half-jokingly and not taking it seriously. In the end, I felt rewarded enough to give it a high rating but after reading other reviewers' concerns I notched it down. Because they are right. Rowell ignored bisexuality and pansexuality and her book suffers from Dead Lesbian Syndrome. The only reason I don't rate it even lower is that at first glance I didn't notice these offensive mistakes and I usually rate a book based on what it made me feel (in this case, nostalgia).
