Set in 2046 on the artificial-island arcology of New Avalon, it follows Corazón "Cory" Kagami, an impulsive college student who resists the path her mother Morgan Herrera, head of Catchfire Industries and New Avalon's effective ruler, has planned for her. When a botched experiment leaves Cory wearing an extraordinary phase armor, she takes up the hero identity Tangent Knight Caprice on her own terms, drawing on her love of Japanese tokusatsu action shows rather than her mother's training.
