Synopsis

Sasha has hit a wall. Her job is all-consuming, her friendships have drifted, and she can't remember the last time she wanted anything beyond sleep. She heads to a Devon seaside resort she loved as a child, planning to fix herself with kale smoothies, yoga, and quiet.

The hotel is falling apart, and she isn't alone: Finn, a stressed-out stranger recovering from his own collapse, is sharing the beach. They disagree on how to heal — Sasha favors manifesting and secret Mars bars, Finn prefers whisky — but when odd notes addressed to both of them start turning up on the sand, they're pulled into each other's orbit.

The Burnout is a contemporary romantic comedy about two people forced to name what wore them down, and to remember what they used to love before they stopped noticing.
