I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Buried Dreams the third book in Natasha Madison's Dream series delivered an emotional second chance romance. A romantic story where the characters confront their past, overcome the pain of heartbreak, regain trust and rediscover the power of true love.
Buried Dreams treats readers to a small town, single dad, second chance romantic tale in which tragedy ripped apart a couple who seemed destined to be together forever.
Everleigh and Brock had their whole future looking forward to, but then tragedy struck. In the aftermath of the tragedy, they both made decisions that led to a painful breakup. Nine years later a family emergency sees Everleigh returning home forcing her to face the past. Within the nine years of separation Brock became a single father and the town's mechanic.
It's said that there is a thin line between love and hate. Brock and Everleigh relationship was an embodiment of that quote. Nine years ago decisions made by both led to them hating each other or so they believed. Because it took only a moment for them to be in each other's orbit nine years later to realize that their love for each other never died.
Brock's broody and standoffish personality didn't make him any friends. At this point only his daughter had access to his heart. His character piqued my curiosity and this installment satisfied it. The emotions running through the story was wild and intense. The anger between them leapt off the pages along with the chemistry that burned hotter than ever between them. No matter how they tried these two couldn't move on from each other which was evident in their every encounter.
Their romance will warm your heart. Not only is it sweet, but it's also passionate and all consuming. They bared their souls to each other and held nothing back. The glimpses given into their past provided insight into the circumstances that led to their breakup. Failure to communicate was the number one culprit. Seeing how they learned from their past mistakes which brought healing and allowing them to regain what they lost warmed my heart.
Although Brock and Everleigh's relationship was the main focus of the story, Madison gives her readers drama involving Brock's relationship with his daughter's mother. Then there were the Cartwrights who believed they owned the town coming with their intimidating tactics.
Listening to the audiobook with a dual narration by Gregory Salinas and Savannah Peachwood resulted in a delightful experience. Their interpretation of the characters brought the story to life making it an enjoyable listen. This is my second time experiencing their collaboration and they did not disappoint.
Buried Dreams delivered as expected and I look forward to the next book in the series. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
