I was completely in the mood for a cozy fantasy romance, and this book delivered. I loved the characters and the story. Frida did frustrate me a bit toward the end, but only briefly. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that some important worldbuilding details felt incomplete (like the dragons or the war mentioned) which I assume were covered in previous books. It slightly affected the overall experience, especially since the books are meant to be read as standalones.
