Synopsis

England, 1879. Annabelle Archer, the brilliant but destitute daughter of a country vicar, has earned a place among Oxford's first female students — in exchange for recruiting powerful men to the women's suffrage cause. Her target is Sebastian Devereux, the cold, calculating Duke of Montgomery who steers Britain's politics at the Queen's command, and the last man who should want an outspoken commoner anywhere near his household. But Sebastian is looking for a duchess of equal standing to secure his family's legacy, not a woman he can't stop noticing.

First in the League of Extraordinary Women series, following Oxford's earliest female students as they take on Victorian society, one duke at a time.
