Bring Them Home is the sixteenth book in Carolyn Arnold’s Detective Amanda Steele series. Like the previous books, it kept me glued to the pages and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
This time around, Amanda and her partner, Trent, are tasked with investigating a missing persons case that takes a darker turn when a homicide becomes part of the investigation.
The case hits close to home when one of the missing persons turns out to be Zoe’s teacher. As Amanda’s daughter, Zoe is already familiar with the demands of her mother’s job, but the news affects her deeply, triggering painful memories. This adds an emotional layer to the investigation as Amanda works to uncover the truth while supporting her daughter through what the case has brought to the surface.
I enjoy that each book in the series can be read as a standalone, with a new case at the centre of each story. At the same time, Amanda’s personal life continues to develop throughout the series, giving readers a reason to follow her journey from one book to the next.
Amanda and Trent’s relationship adds an interesting layer to the story. I’m curious to see what direction Carolyn Arnold takes with them and how their relationship develops in the books ahead.
Wow! What a ride! Bring Them Home
had me glued to the pages and trying to piece together the clues right along with Amanda and Trent. It was a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat read, and I enjoyed every twist and turn. Another solid addition to the series, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where Amanda’s story goes next
