Synopsis

In her forties, Bridget Jones finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, with a complication: she isn't certain which of two men is the father. Told in diary form, the book follows Bridget through the practical and emotional chaos of a late-in-life pregnancy — hospital scans, competitive "smug mothers," and a decision she can't put off much longer about which relationship, if either, she wants to build a family around.

It's a return to the same self-deprecating comic voice as the earlier books, now applied to pregnancy and impending motherhood rather than dating in her twenties.
