Synopsis

Helen finds herself engaged to the dashing Sicilian Lorenzo Martelli after he proposes in front of his entire family. As the wedding day approaches, Helen begins to have second thoughts, while Lorenzo remains determined to make her his wife. He always gets what he wants, but will he have to wait for Helen to choose him freely?

British romance novelist (born Christine Sparks, later Christine Sparks Fiorotto) who published more than 75 novels for Mills & Boon, Harlequin and Silhouette between 1984 and 2017. A former magazine journalist for Woman's Own, she set most of her books in Italy, reflecting her marriage to a Venetian artist. She won Romance Writers of America RITA Awards for Song of the Lorelei (1991) and His Brother's Child (1998). She died in May 2026.
