Synopsis

Bones of the River is a 1938 British comedy film starring Will Hay as Professor Benjamin Tibbetts, a bumbling missionary and amateur naturalist known as "Old Bones." The film is a parody of the 1935 film Sanders of the River, and it follows Tibbetts as he becomes entangled in a gin-distilling scheme and a series of slapstick mishaps while trying to educate the local population. The tone is lighthearted and satirical throughout, and the film contains no violence, sexual content, or other mature themes.
