Synopsis

Neil Griffon unexpectedly inherits his father's stables after a tragic accident. His new life takes a dangerous turn when masked assailants abduct him, demanding one of his prized horses, Archangel. A ruthless crime boss wants the horse for his son to ride in the Derby, with dire consequences for Neil if he fails to comply.

Dick Francis (1920–2010) was a British steeplechase jockey turned crime novelist. Born in Coedcanlas, Pembrokeshire, Wales, he served as an RAF pilot in the Second World War before becoming one of Britain's leading National Hunt jockeys, riding over 350 winners and serving as jockey to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother — most famously aboard Devon Loch, which collapsed within sight of victory in the 1956 Grand National. After retiring from racing in 1957 he became a journalist and then a novelist...
