Synopsis

Blindsight is the debut medical thriller by Robin Cook, first published in 1992. When Dr. Laurie Montgomery takes over as Chief Medical Examiner at New York City's morgue, she begins to notice an alarming pattern: a series of drug overdoses among young, affluent victims that don't add up — each case is too clean, the circumstances too convenient. As her investigation deepens, it intersects with NYPD Detective Lou Soldato and his hunt for a ruthless narcotics kingpin named Paul Cerino, whose reach extends into the city's highest circles. Told through multiple perspectives including Laurie, Lou, and even the criminals themselves, Blindsight is a propulsive medical thriller about addiction, power, and the lengths to which people will go to protect their own interests.
