Synopsis

Set during the Napoleonic Peninsular War in Portugal. Jeanne (known in Portugal as Joana da Fonte, Marquesa das Minas) and Robert Blake, a British army captain and spy, were childhood sweethearts torn apart by their different stations — she believing him dead of smallpox. Reunited years later behind enemy lines, only he recognizes her, and they must navigate espionage, old wounds and rekindled feeling to survive the war.
