Variety hall actress Ophelia Flax finds herself entangled in a murder mystery at a secluded winter hunting party. She's there to break off her engagement to the brutish Comte de Griffe, but when her investigative partner and romantic rival, Professor Penrose, arrives with his new fiancée, things get complicated. A guest is found clawed and bloody, and Ophelia must uncover the truth before a local fairy tale becomes reality, all while snow traps everyone in the château.
