Synopsis

This short novella continues the combative, passionate relationship of Chloe Mills and Bennett Ryan, now a couple. With Chloe's career taking off and her schedule packed, she keeps refusing to slow down for time alone together -- frustrating Bennett, who wants a chance to reconnect away from work and reassert the playful power struggle between them. Unable to take no for an answer, he engineers an escape: two plane tickets and a French villa. What unfolds mixes their familiar bantering antagonism and intense chemistry with a more serious conversation about commitment and the balance between their relationship and their ambitions. Brief and tightly focused on the established couple, it serves as an interlude that deepens their bond, revisiting the friction, teasing, and explicit heat of their original story while nudging things toward a more committed footing.
