As co-owner of Bayside Resorts, Rick Savage loves working alongside his brother and closest friends and running a thriving business in Washington, DC, that he will return to when summer ends. Being back on Cape Cod is bittersweet, though; the place stirs up painful memories he would rather leave buried. Then sweet, cautious preschool teacher Desiree Cleary moves in next door, and Rick finds himself drawn to her, certain she could be the perfect distraction. Running an art gallery was never part of Desiree's plans. Tricked into coming to the aid of her impetuous, unreliable mother, she is now stuck spending the summer with a badass half sister she barely knows and a misbehaving dog. As if that were not enough, she cannot escape the sparks flaring with her handsome, pushy new neighbor, the one who sets off every warning bell she has.
