Battle angel Alita

Battle Angel Alita (Gunnm) is a landmark cyberpunk manga by Yukito Kishiro, set in a post-apocalyptic future where the gap between the wealthy elite of the floating city Zalem and the impoverished inhabitants of the Scrapyard below has never been wider. Alita, a cyborg with a mysterious past and a cybernetic body, is found broken and dying in a junkyard and rebuilt by the cybernetic doctor Daisuke Ido. With no memory of who she was, she relies on her instinctive mastery of Panzer Kunst — a legendary martial art — to fight her way through a world of bounty hunters, cyborg gangs, and a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power. Kishiro's detailed world-building, striking artwork, and the epic scope of Alita's journey make this one of the defining works of the cyberpunk genre. The story follows Alita as she uncovers the truth of her past, confronts powerful enemies, and fights for justice in a world where technology has reshaped what it means to be human.
