Synopsis

Bruce Attleton, a novelist whose early promise has faded, leads a detached life from his actress wife, Sybilla. When Bruce disappears during a sudden trip to Paris, his belongings are discovered in a sinister artist's studio in Notting Hill. Inspector Macdonald must delve into Bruce's hidden life to uncover the truth behind his vanishing and identify a mysterious blackmailer in 1930s London.
