Characters : basil is insufferable. I don’t even want to start at the ragebait this character is. basil knows his girlfriend summer is not comfortable with his friends. she tells him on multiple occasions, which he dismisses as teasing, joking. summer tries her best to fit in, doing her best, and then…summer sees basil kissing his colleague drew, and not removing his hand from her waist and making eye contact with her as if they are nothing. this man, he’s like the manchildren I see everywhere. and then, summer decides to break up with him, and this f••••• waits, waits for her to apologize. he thinks she’ll come back and forgive him like she always does. and then after the breakup, drew confesses her feelings for him, which he rejects, because he tells her that they are friends.
ughhhhh.
this bitch thinks hurting his girlfriend is okay, and top of that, he blames drew for hurting summer.
the man himself does not know who he hurt and why.
what groveling would he do and why should summer take him back?
I dnf’ed this book, ain’t reading it again.
What I loved : nothing.
What I struggled with : basil, his decisions, his peanut brain trying to understand what he was doing with his life and summer.

I can’t become blasé about being talked to the way…you’ve just spoken to me, or as your colleagues did at your Christmas party or your friends just now.” I smiled wanly. “I’m not from your world, and I don’t fit. I have been trying hard to, but I don’t want to anymore.”
