Darcy, Camilla and Kate are in the Maldives on a divorce trip: an expensive resort, a fresh start in midlife, a week of not thinking about anything.

They have only known each other a few years, and the thing that brought them together was not a shared hobby. Each of them has a different connection to a mass killing at an English guesthouse twenty-two years ago, and that is the foundation of the friendship.

Then a body washes ashore.
