🐶 Bad Bella 🐶
Okay, I’m gonna be honest — this book is kind of a mid but cute classic for me. 😭🐾
I first read it when I was around 9, and back then I actually really liked it. Now that I’m 14, I’m not sure how much I would enjoy it if I picked it up for the first time today. It’s definitely a book for younger readers, but there’s still something about it that I can’t completely hate.
The biggest thing I remember about this book is the feeling. 🕯️🎄 It gives me that cozy Christmas atmosphere where you’re lying somewhere warm, there’s a fire in the fireplace, it’s cold outside and you’re just reading about Bella. And somehow that makes me feel both sad and happy at the same time. It’s honestly a really specific vibe, and I kind of love it.
Bella herself is also just… so f•••••• cute. 🐶😭 She’s a little chaotic, she gets herself into trouble and she’s basically the definition of a cute little disaster. And honestly, that’s probably why the story works so well for younger readers.
At the same time, I think if I read it completely for the first time at 14, I’d probably be sitting there like: “Okay… this is cute and all, but what the hell am I reading?” 😭💀 It’s simple, very wholesome and definitely aimed at a younger audience.
But I would absolutely recommend it as a gift for younger readers, and not just for Christmas. 🎄📖 It’s a really nice little book for a reading journal, especially if you like stories about animals, friendship, family and that cozy emotional feeling.
So yeah — is it my current vibe? Not really. Is Bella cute as hell? Absolutely. Is it a good book for younger readers? Definitely. 🐾🕯️
It’s one of those books that I probably wouldn’t choose to read again now, but I still have a soft spot for it because of the memories and the feeling it gives me.
Final rating: 8/10 🐶🎄
Would I reread it at 14? Probably not. 😭
Would I recommend it to younger readers? Absolutely.
Perfect little gift? Honestly, yes. 🎁📖
