Synopsis

George F. Babbitt is a successful real estate agent in the Midwestern city of Zenith, enjoying all the material comforts and social standing he believes he deserves. Despite his outwardly complacent and conformist life, Babbitt secretly yearns for romance and escape. When a crisis prompts him to rebel against his conventional world, he seeks fulfillment through new adventures and liberal ideas, challenging the very hypocrisy he once embodied. This brilliant satire exposes the social malaise of middle America in the 1920s, offering a poignant look at one man's struggle for authenticity.
