This is the longest book that I have ever read from start to finish. I am kind of proud of it. I have always found Atlas Shrugged to be one of the best philosophical fictions ever written. But over the last few years, as I started to truly understand the meaning behind its vilifying of socialism, my opinions are not as favourable anymore. As a fictional story, it definitely stands on its own, but that’s not why anyone reads Ayn Rand, do they? It’s the philosophy that is actually quite troubling.
