Synopsis

Gordon Parks, at eighty, presents a new photographic vision in "Arias in Silence." Fragmentary found objects are set against abstract watercolor backgrounds, evoking diverse landscapes from the American Southwest to Chinese scroll paintings. Over two dozen original, unpublished poems accompany the photographs, expressing the wisdom, love, yearning, and drive central to Parks's artistic life.
