Synopsis

When the great statesman Lord Slane dies, everyone assumes his dutiful wife will slowly fade away. Lady Slane surprises them all by escaping to a remote cottage in Cornwall at age eighty-eight. There, she finds an unexpected new life and connection with her young companion, Maurice, who helps her rediscover joy and purpose.
