Angelfall
Synopsis
Six weeks after angels tore through the modern world, seventeen-year-old Penryn Young is scavenging California's ruins with her fractured family when a warrior angel abducts her younger sister, Paige. Desperate to get her back, Penryn strikes an uneasy bargain with Raffe, a once-powerful angel who has lost his wings and needs Penryn's help to move unnoticed among humans.
Together the two cross a devastated Northern California, dodging feral gangs, monstrous experiments, and the angels hunting them both, as Penryn slowly learns just how much is at stake in the angels' war and how little she can trust anyone, including Raffe.
Susan Ee's self-published breakout blends post-apocalyptic survival with angel mythology and a slow-building enemies-to-allies bond, launching the Penryn & the End of Days series.
