Synopsis

In 1817 Edinburgh, Hazel Sinnett is determined to become a surgeon despite a society that forbids women from the profession. When she is barred from formal lectures, she strikes a deal to study on her own, but she needs bodies to practice on. She teams up with Jack Currer, a local resurrection man who digs up the dead for a price, only to discover that a deadly plague and a series of disappearances are linked to the city's elite.
