I think some of the reason this book gets bad rating a is because people are expecting something different. The blurb on the book only gives a small part of the plot, not nearly the majority, and while I think this is confusing people as to what the book is about, I understood why the blurb is so vague—because otherwise, it would give too much away.
I really do think this is a spectacular book! I used to subscribe to Carrie Hope Fletcher’s YouTube channel, which is where I found out about her writing, but I haven’t been there in a while—so all my thoughts are based on the book itself.
I like the characters, Cherry especially. If she were a real person, I’d want to be her best friend. I liked the interesting world Carrie built in this novel, and I loved the magic. The plot kept me hooked, kept me reading, and I’d really like to see if any more adventures happen with Cherry and Chase.
It’s worth a read, if you’re interested for a cute, light story with baking and a little bit of magic!
