I have not read the book, but I saw the movie, and it is so bad. I can’t point out everything, but both Tessa and Hardin are toxic. It is a tale of forgiveness and unconditional love, they say, but i don’t see any love between Tessa and Hardin really. The audacity of this boy child to make a bet on Tessa and that girl - Nathalie, i’m tired to see that none of the characters have maturity. Not the parents, not the main characters, no one. Tessa and Hardin are so toxic, they don’t communicate, don’t know how to do that, infact all the do is be together, have sex, and then something happens, they fall apart, and the cycle repeats all over again, what is this? None of the characters have maturity, just naah. Hardin needs to go to therapy, that man writes a whole book about them, and doesn’t even tell Tessa about it before publishing. Yikes. And the way Hardin treats robert? Double yikes. Because that man had more chemistry than hardin ever did with Tessa. I mean, this movie was so trashy, it was painful to watch. And the fact remains that if Tessa couldn’t get pregnant, then how come they had a child at the end of the movie? Nothing made sense, Hardin used each and every method to show he has changed, and on top of that, Nathalie was shown as the girl who forgave him, after Hardin made amends? Are they f•••••• kidding me? That man filmed a f•••••• sex tape and sent it to his friends, and used her, and that girl should become a man - hater after that, but she goes on to kiss him, after all that? Yikes. What woman does that? Unless she’s lost her mind? And dignity? Nathalie could find someone better, no redemption arc for Hardin, Tessa, and Nathalie. No. This is not a story of forgiveness, what Hardin did is unforgivable, at least for Nathalie, Tessa could maybe not be with him, and choose a different path.
Someone in the review said that emily bronte would be so embarassed if she woke up from the grave — that her quotes were being used in a book like this, and i can’t agree more. This book and movie both were painful, this should have never been a romance novel, nothing is this is romance, just toxicity, mistakes after mistakes, no redemption, no amends, nothing. Hardin only keeps running after Tessa like an idiot saying he’s changed, boy change your f•••••••• methods please and then let her know. Actions before words, apprently Hardin does not know that.
Everyone is so annoying, and it just shows that this was written poorly. It is not a tale of unconditional love, if unconditional love like this, i don’t want it then.
