In the second book of the series, Butler fleshes out more fully her themes of hierarchy, sex and humanity. The POV mostly centers on Lilith's hybrid son, particularly during his infancy, and it makes for a very compelling perspective. I was hooked from beginning to end. I can't wait to devour the next and final book!
