So, I’d been wanting to start a short book for a while, and Adopt a Vampire felt like a fun pick. Since it’s a short read, I wasn’t expecting a super deep plot or anything—and yeah, the story moves really fast. Honestly, even though it’s a novella, I think the author could’ve taken a bit more time with character development and the overall events.
One thing I really wish had gotten more attention was the relationship itself. Like, once the two main characters got together, we didn’t get much of their actual love and bonding time. It just kinda... ended suddenly. And yes, it had a happy ending, but it felt rushed—like a soft little cliff dive at the end.
That said, it was still a cute, fun, supernatural mini-break with all the vampire–werewolf vibes, which I enjoyed for what it was. But I can’t say I’d give it a high rating, just because even for a 160-something page story, I feel like there could’ve been more details, more depth—especially around the important stuff.
Also! There was another couple in the book that honestly stole the spotlight for me near the end. I low-key wish they got their own book because they were just that intriguing!
So yeah, if you're in the mood for a quick, lighthearted read with vampire–werewolf themes and you’re okay with a plot that’s not super strong, this could be a nice little escape. Oh, and in case you’re wondering—there’s very little smut in this. I wouldn’t even call it smut, maybe just a hint of spice at best. And the language? Super easy to follow.
