Synopsis

Beatrix Winslow-Hale is an author on the verge of a mainstream breakthrough. She has acclaim, a growing ability to fund her own world-building without help from her wealthy family, and a fiercely loyal best friend who keeps pulling her out of the house and into trouble.

Then Dorian Wolker arrives in the city. He is a man who does not take so much as make others want to be taken. His pursuit of Beatrix moves from opulent penthouses to contracts and requests for surrender, and her life starts to spin out of control.

Beside her is Manon De Rochemaure, a European billionaire heiress and supermodel who treats sensuality as a form of rebellion. Together the two women plan a comeback meant to do real damage.

The book is a seduction-driven story with a feminist, punk attitude. Beatrix and Manon use sensuality, brazenness and reputation as tools to take apart the patriarchy, on the premise that men burn witches because they fear them.
