Synopsis

Accidental Tryst is a 2018 contemporary romantic comedy by Natasha Boyd and the first book in her Charleston series.

Emmy is at an airport charging station, on her way to New York to help her uncle, when she picks up the wrong phone and boards her flight with it. The phone belongs to Trystan — a commitment-averse serial dater who has never made it past a fourth date, and almost certainly the sharp-suited man with grey eyes she noticed at the terminal. He, meanwhile, is holding hers.

What follows plays out largely in text messages between two people who have never properly met and who each now hold the other's entire private life in their hand. It is a smartphone-era take on the You've Got Mail premise, sharper and more explicit than its model, and it is set against the Charleston, South Carolina, backdrop the series is named for.
