Synopsis

The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena is book #38 in R.L. Stine's original Goosebumps series, first published by Scholastic in 1995. It follows siblings Jordan and Nicole Blake, two kids stuck in perpetually sunny Pasadena who long for a real winter, until their photographer father is commissioned to shoot a mysterious snow creature in Alaska and brings them along.

What starts as a dream trip to the snow turns into a chase through the frozen wild as the children come face to face with a legendary abominable snowman. The scares don't stay in Alaska, though: a souvenir carried back to California keeps the menace alive, delivering the sudden twist Goosebumps readers expect.

Written for middle-grade readers, the book pairs light, fast horror with the series' signature cliffhanger chapters and shock ending.
