Synopsis

A year after burying her husband Bobby, Marcie Sullivan drives into the remote Northern California town of Virgin River looking for Ian Buchanan — the fellow marine who dragged Bobby off a battlefield in Fallujah, bought her three more years with him, and then disappeared once their unit came home. What she finds is a man living alone in the mountains, as badly wounded in his own way as Bobby had been in his. Set over the Christmas season, the fourth Virgin River novel is a story about grief, gratitude, and the slow work of coming back to other people.
