This is the first book in a mystery series about a woman fallen on hard times, who instead of becoming victim of her situation, makes herself indispensable to the people of the Ton.
This is not a "mystery romance," but more of a murder mystery with a clean cute flirtation in the background that I can tell will be series long.
I really had fun with this book because it is involving Almack's, and it was different than what I ever read in that you get into the nitty gritty behind the scenes drama and politics of the famous assembly we keep reading about in these regency romance books. The book itself is light and fluffy, yet the mystery had me guessing till like 80% of the book, even when I started catching on, I thought it was an intriguing plot.
The audiobook is narrated by Sarah Nichols. I did not know of her before this, but I really enjoyed her. And will look out for books narrated by her in the future.
Also, the covers for this series are gorgeous!
