Synopsis

After her fiance postpones their wedding indefinitely, Gail Lawson impulsively vows to marry the next man she meets. She crashes into Steve Redfern, a handsome stranger who overheard her dramatic declaration. Steve, in desperate need of a wife to secure custody of his children, proposes a temporary marriage. What starts as a practical arrangement soon turns serious as they both begin to fall for each other.

British romance novelist (born Christine Sparks, later Christine Sparks Fiorotto) who published more than 75 novels for Mills & Boon, Harlequin and Silhouette between 1984 and 2017. A former magazine journalist for Woman's Own, she set most of her books in Italy, reflecting her marriage to a Venetian artist. She won Romance Writers of America RITA Awards for Song of the Lorelei (1991) and His Brother's Child (1998). She died in May 2026.
