This book is rather conflicting to review if I'm being honest and that's for a few reasons - let's break it down a bit.
Romance:
So the romance is Okay - I enjoyed reading about it but I didn't love it. Everyone knows some semblance of Hades and Persephone and the basic gist of their mythological story. I did like that it wasn't a direct reproduction and had some form of originality, yet still retaining the famed characters somewhat authentic. I think a big issue I had was that there wasn't really much oomph to the romance. She hated him then she loved him - there wasn't any in-between for me. You had the small twist towards the end but not even that had a real impact on anything.
Steam:
Yeah, alright it's there but it really wasn't anything groundbreaking - there are definitely better steamy books out there, even in the mythological retelling genres.
Characters and plot:
I don't know why I didn't vibe with the characters in these books. When I was reading it I couldn't shake the feeling that I had been transported back to 2014 reading a wattpad book. The plot style and character interactions just seemed more suited for a younger audience which is rather strange when it's meant to be a spicy book...
