A Shadow in the Reaping

Lu is a vampire living undercover in the village of Sanford. She keeps quiet on purpose, because her voice could give her away. The one exception is the hunt, when her singing draws in victims better than anything else she has.

One of those hunts is cut short by Ashen, a reaper from the Shadow Realm. He has come to collect a bounty that should not exist, and with his arrival Lu's hiding place stops being safe.

The two are forced into an uneasy partnership to solve a crime that should not be possible. Lu is bound to Ashen, a demon she cannot read, and the closer she works beside him, the harder it is to go on living as a shadow among her enemies. Something more than secrets begins to pass between them.
