It started fun and exciting then somewhere I lost interest. The opening scandal hooks you in. But everything after that just circles around the same problems without moving anything forward. Which is disappointing because I really liked Silas. His character had depth and had potential for good character growth that I felt was outshined by Hannah's carelessness and impatience.
The fake engagement stays transactional for too long. Real conversations are scarce and therefore character development is also superficial. By around 70%, boredom won and DNFed. I enjoy this author because she writes unique plots and setups so I'll just chalk it up as a miss for me this time around.
Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC.
