I love the heroic arc and its delightful prose although at times the girl’s dejection and anxiety making the narrative goes too emotionally overwhelmed for me; of self-trust, acceptance and social consciousness, also having a peek into one’s fragility and introverted thoughts that can be both relatable and intriguing much.

Inventive magical girls system despite how each at one point facing their own traumatic event in life yet having that superpower to become one of the magical girls. Love the climate talk and its domestic insight as well those glimpses on adulthood crisis. Some parts were dramatic and a bit suspenseful with its action scenes but I like the protagonist’s dynamic esp nearly the end— the irony of getting a credit card as her magic wand after wanting to die because of overusing it in the first place. It really amused and enthralled me to follow her progress throughout, clever too on the way her magic wand works in giving a lesson of ‘paying the price’.

Might go biased because I love Anton Hur’s translation also must give credit too to the illustrator, Kim Sanho for the beautiful and brilliant illustrated pages and covers (both on the dust jacket and front back hardcovers) he drew—loving the hue so much!

Thank you Times Reads for this lovely review copy!",4,"none","rv-01kr81tk6cddcfvvkphf3cajdg",[],"2026-05-10T04:20:16.000000Z
"https://api.seekquel.app/api/works/01kr81tgh10k3r9j7yxb6w8x9p/reviews",20]
