Beautifully written and heartbreaking. It did feel longer than it needed to be and the horrors often felt over the top, but the way the friendships were described and the found family portrayed was beautiful.

That being said, I don't know that anyone needs to read this. This is the only book I've ever read where I've said "f••• you!" out loud to it. You certainly should not read this if you have any kind of childhood trauma.

I've had enough after 150 pages, because I think that this is all there is to this book. It's just trauma p*rn. Seriously, what the heck? The writer had a list of the most horrible things that could happen to a human and decided to include them all in the story. I don't like this kind of sensationalism, I don't like forcing some controversial opinions down my throat while treating them like facts. I don't like a book this harmful to be this influential. I also don't like bad writing and pages and pages of nothing and almost zero character development, and the only development is in the level of suffering.
