Synopsis

In the seaside town of Lighthouse Cove in northern California, everyone knows the best contractor around is Shannon Hammer. Her home-renovation business thrives; her love life does not. After a disastrous blind date with real estate agent Jerry Saxton - during which she is forced to defend herself physically - Shannon has good reason to want nothing more to do with him.

Then she finds Jerry dead in a Victorian home she is restoring, murdered with one of her signature pink tools. The town's new police chief notes that her public threats may have laid the foundation for murder, and Shannon becomes the obvious suspect.

Determined to clear her name, she investigates with the help of her four best friends, her eccentric father, her neighbours and a handsome crime writer new to town - and a vicious attack proves the killer is watching. The first Fixer-Upper Mystery, later adapted by Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
